Halo 4 needs a 1 - 50 ranking system! The 1 - 50 ranking system helped to place you against people of your own skill, and gave Halo a competitive edge. Whereas in Halo Reach ranks mean nothing and you get placed against complete noobs. I just watched a YouTube video saying that Call of Duty is going to have a similar ranking system to Halo 3 now. 343 if you don’t have a ranking system in your game it will be a step in the wrong direction. Please put in a ranking system it’s what separates the good player from the bad ones! And, it will make player want to play your game more because they want their 50!
What it needs is a visible ranking system based on skill rather than playtime. I honestly don’t care whether 1-50 reappears, I just want an easy to comprehend ranking system for the competitive community.
Arena failed because the ranking wasn’t based on win/loss. It had some complicated system where your ranking depended on personal performance rather than working together as a team. Then several months later they decided to flip the script and make it win/loss. It’s unfortunate that they did this after the majority of people left the playlist and those considering playing Arena had no idea how the ranking system due to Bungie/343’s inability to make Arena readily apparent the playlist is based on win/loss.
Does 1-50 need to return? No. Win/loss competitive ranking system needs to return though.
I’d like to see a ranking system return, but I would not like to see 1-50 again. It’s a new trilogy, and 1-50 had its issues, so I’d like to see something different.

I just want to see a system similar to Halo 3, because getting a 50 in Halo 3 was an actual achievement unlike becoming an inheritor in Halo Reach. As long as the system they have in Halo 4 requires skill to become a high rank, I’ll be okay with it.

But, Reach’s ranking system was garbage, and the only thing you had to do to become an inheritor is just play the game a lot. I’d prefer it to be that if you’re good at the game you’ll become the highest rank.

Fixing the problems would be better than scrapping it altogether.
God here we go again. If anyone has any 1-50 threads can they pull them up? I think I have one back ASAP.
