1-50 Rank System will be a joke

I’m upset as most people are with the lack of ranking system in this game but say come the end of the month one is put in place.

There will be separate playlists and most likely they will consist of…

Ranked Infinity Slayer
Ranked Objective
Ranked Free for All

I don’t see 343 launching any more playlists than these. Ranked MLG settings would be great but seeing as how those are still being tested it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing one. That leaves Objective as being the only rank that will pretty much matter. While the better player may win over time what good will ranks serve to prove in Infinity Slayer? Be it the randomness of weapon drops, personal ordnance, and respawns there are countless factors that effectively prevent the better player from winning all too often.

With the current trend of complaint after complaint I honestly don’t feel that a ranked system is going to be the “be all end all” that most have made it out to be. Complaint threads will shift from “Y NO RANKS U RUIN HALO” to complaints of how weapon drops were more favorable to one team over the other, which unlike most complaints, is actually legitimate.

I thought ranks would be visible on Waypoint only, not in-game.

That’s what was initially said, then I believe it was David Ellis saying they would consider adding an in game indication, whatever that means.

They did specify the ranks would be 1-50 though.

If true, that’s a big improvement. So why is your thread about how it’s a joke?

If they don’t want a rank number next to a players name in game, they should put it on the “Service Record” under War-Games. I’m sure that’d make people somewhat happier.

yeah i agree, to not have it shown in game at all will just make more players want to leave the game.
