1-50 Rank system Debate

Ill start by saying icame into halo, on halo 3, the summer before reach came out. I never really was competitive so i didn’t pay attention to 1-50 rank system.

Then i head it was comming to halo 4, so i started asking about it.

My friend, who is way more competitive, die hard halo 2/3 fan said that the 1-50 system was base primarily on win/loss rate, per playlist.

So I asked him why doesn’t it factor in K/D, at least in slayer modes since K/D is a somewhat accurate indicator of skill, and i don’t want my rank to go down because play with randoms.

He basically called me stupid and said if they factor in K/D, people would not care about winning and helping out the team, but would focus more on doing good personally, regardless of win loss.

I just don’t like the idea of my rank being determend by how good the randomly paired teams i have are.
If it’s going to be based of of winning and losing to promote team work, why not just give ranks for specific teams, and a side rank for individual skill, that factors in k/d and personal skill more heavily.
I feel

1.) 1-50 Rank system should factor in personal skill along with win/loss.
Agree/Disagree

Why?

2.) 1-50 rank system should give ranks to specific teams/ groupings and give a individual skill ranking along side it.

Agree/Disagree ?

Why?

This is actually a debate? Look bro if you don’t wanna lose your rank don’t play ranked or do what real players do and get a team together. There is no debate the system needs to be in the game. I have many friends who merely consider Halo 4 a joke because there is no ranking system. By the way your friend is wrong it does go off of K/D too, but only if you win.

Example: A team mate goes 20/1 and you go 12/8 in a team slayer the person who did better would most likely rank up faster or gain a rank entirely. If it goes only off of K/D then everyone will be a camping noob with camo, which in turn would make the game less about the team and more about the I. Defeating the purpose of team anything in the first place.

I completely agree with your friend. He has it spot on. As a halo fan that saw the amazing halo 3 ranking system and reachs fail of a competitive playlist here’s why: some would say the individual rank matters, others say the team. If one side is trying to win the game and the other is trying to get kd up, both win. That’s like inflation. The highest skill in halo was meant to show your team and opponents how good you would be in a game. I wouldn’t mind if it was a bit based off of kd but not te individual skill. That would be a disaster

If you’d like to show support for or discuss the 1-50 issue, feel free to do so here.

I Disagree

First I will say I am in favor of visible ranks

Now why I Disagree,

If you want to be ranked on individual skill you would play a playlist like Lone Wolves, If you play a sport you would play Tennis or Golf.

Team Slayer and Team Objective should be based off wins and loses only. You win as a team and you lose as a team. What does it matter if you go 20 and 5 but still lose? “TEAM” is the key word here

What about Objective play? You go 20 and 5 but are only treating it as slayer to pad stats while your team is struggling to get the flag but has double the deaths than kills. You shouldn’t have a higher rank than your team if your just slaying and they are trying to win the objective.

In basketball you can have the most points and rebounds, but still lose the game at the end of the day you lost as a “TEAM” and just because you were the best player on the court doesn’t erase the fact that you still lost the game. You get ranked as a team and if you don’t win enough and miss the playoffs. Your individual stats don’t matter unless you’re looking for a new contract or a new team.

So if you feel you are being held back maybe you should look for a new team that can play on your level, instead of complaining why your rank isn’t higher than your teamates.
