I know it’s probably not going to be in H4, but it should be. I know it has it’s flaws, the cheaters, the boosters, the DDOS -Yoinks!-,the stan-byers, the jerks, the de-rankers. But you know what matters more than that? The fact that people actually play the game? I ran into a guy yesterday and the first thing we talked about was how we spent 4 months trying to turn our 49’s into 50’s in team slayer. We could recall entire matches, life events that happened with each other even though we were complete strangers. We were two people with a common goal. Isn’t the point of making the game to have people want to play it everyday? Spartan-Ops will be cool and all but 1-50 is the biggest deterrent keeping people from playing everyday. Right now as it is in reach whether you win or lose everyone gets credits, there isn’t an incentive to plug your mic in and try to communicate with your fellow players to win. Because win or lose, everybody gets credits. Credits aren’t fun to get, they are annoying. Playing a single game and watching the credit bar go up 2 millimeters and basically saying o now I have to do that 200 more times to get the next piece of armor. I don’t care how my freaking spartan looks. I wanna shove bullets down someones throat and hear them squeal as their rank goes down.
Reach’s population proves otherwise. Halo 3 had 1m people on every weekend for the first 3 months. Reach only did that for the weekend it came out and then the slope went down.
Frankie said they are not using the 1-50 system in Halo 4 specifically because of all of the derankers and cheaters and account-buyers. 343 is working on a new ranking system that will get around all of that.
Actually Halo 3’s population was measured in the past 24 hours… meaning that if 1 million people were online in the past day, it would show 1 million people even if there was only 100,000 people online.
Whereas Halo:Reach’s population is measured by people currently online and in a game.

Like I’ve said before, there are many more major shooter titles out now than there were when Halo 3 came out. That argument doesn’t work anymore.

His quote on NeoGaf saying that the people remembering 1-50 fondly have their rose tinted glasses on needs to be posted.

You’re wrong, OP, if people would have preferred the Halo 3 system they would have returned back to Halo 3 after Reach. On the contrary, people migrated to CoD which has no rank at all, and even more grind then Reach, and they love it. Even MLG is in CoD, says it all.
1-50 was decent back in Halo 2, broken and abused beyond belief in Halo 3, using teh same system in Halo 4 would make people laugh at 343i. What ever they bring, it can’t be worse then 1-50 at least.
Maybe OP, people left Halo 3 to pick up other games with no 1-50, like CoD, and they liked it so much they didn’t return when Reach was released?
Maybe OP, people got fed up with 1-50 in Halo 3 and didn’t return to Reach only due to that formula?
Maybe OP, people left Reach because it was a rushed out AA-game (not AAA like previous Halos) that didn’t get support from the devs?
Maybe OP, the reason no other popular game on xbox uses 1-50 is because it’s a bad system no one wants?
Maybe OP, the reason no other popular game on any platform uses 1-50 is because it’s bad?
Sorry OP, but statistics as well as common sense says that you’re wrong, and 1-50 should stay dead.
